Which Blackberry is better AT&T Bold or Sprint Tour

12/2/2011

I wanted to know a comparison of the keyboard and size of an AT&T Bold vs a Sprint Tour. I currently own a Sprint Tour since it's release and my work bought me a Torch 9800 (which i sold on ebay) then purchased an Android Atrix per my boss's request. I am not really interested in an Android device or any of the latest BB devices, so I am looking to purchase an AT&T Bold 9700. I can see from gsmarena that the Bold is slightly lighter, and smaller in width/height, but the keyboard appears to be a little larger than the Tour. Can anyone definitely tell me I am correct in my thinking? I really like my Tour but need an AT&T device. Thanks!

Answer:

They are the same keyboard the tour is a bigger/phone different look and lighter as you know. What made my decision easier back then was the no wifi on the tour. For me wifi is a must.

I want to unlock my Alltel Blackberry Curve 8330 to work on Sprint.

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 that I purchased through Alltel. I have recentley moved out of the state I used my Alltel service in. Since I have moved I am going to be using a new Service Provider (Sprint). I have been looking online all day for ways to unlock my phone and the best way I could find was to call Alltel and ask them for the code. Well when I did so (twice) I was told that Alltel does not have an unlock code for my phone and that Sprint would have to do what they call a "Flash". Well Sprint told me that I needed to get the phone unlocked. After searching around I found some forums that showed how to unlock a phone and I have come across two problems. The first is that in my phones options there in NOT an option called SIM Card. I have followed step by step instructions on how to find it and it's not there. Also my phone does not have an IMEI code. It's not under the battery nor does typing *#06# help at all. So if anyone can help me figure out how to unlock my phone for use with Sprint that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time (I'm sorry this post is so long) and I hope to hear respones soon.

Answer:

You can't unlock CDMA devices. (Those things you found online about asking the carrier for the code refer to GSM carriers and devices.)

And typically CDMA carriers do not permit phones from other CDMA carriers to be added to their database.

I switched my Blackberry 8530 from Sprint to Criket I recently had my Sprint BB 8530 unlocked and switched to CricKet how I get the BIS account to work?

I recently had my Sprint BB 8530 unlocked and switched to CricKet. Everything works sms, mms, and CricKet web. My BIS account is with Sprint (I guess). My question is how can I re register my BB? I recently had my Sprint BB 8530 unlocked and switched to CricKet. Everything works sms, mms, and CricKet web. My BIS account is with Sprint (I guess). My question is how can I re register my BB? I need the BIS account to work..

Answer:

The 8530 cannot be unlocked, since it does not use a SIM card.

What you are referring to is "flashing", not "unlocking". Flashed devices on other CDMA carrier's networks may not always work. Cricket sells their own BlackBerry now, so they might not let you use a flashed Sprint device on their BIS.

When I type MEP \"alt\" 2 nothing happens on my Sprint Blackberry 9630

I just got my code to unlock my BB 9630 from sprint but for some reason when I get to the step where I have to input MEP "alt" 2 nothing happens. No screen or dialog box is provided to input the MEP code that i purchased from a third party. I have noticed from various videos in YouTube that the screen after entering MEPD shows the network as active before unlocking. On mine it shows as disabled as all other 4 alternatives that also say disabled. Does this have something to do with?

Is there any other way to get the dialog box to enter the provided MEP code that I purchased?

Thanks

How to Enter Unlock Codes:
***** You must have a SIM card in your phone to complete these steps ( Can be active or inactive ) *****

1. Go to settings menu => and then Options
2. Select Advanced options => and then Sim card
3. Type MEPD using your Blackberry keyboard (NOTE: You will not see any text appear on the screen while typing MEPD)
4. Type MEP then [ALT BUTTON] then 2 on your Blackberry keyboard (NOTE: You will not see any text appear on the screen while typing MEP [ALT] 2)
5. You should be presented with a prompt "Enter Network MEP Code". Type in the unlock code received from wwww.unlockmybberry.com and press in the track wheel / jog dial to confirm
6. Your phone is now unlocked

Good luck and let me know how you did.

Help I have a Sprint Blackberry Bold 9650 that I need to Unlock.

7/29/2011

Hey all, I have a Sprint Bold 9650 and I wanted to unlock it because I may be doing some traveling overseas. I purchased the unlock code and when I typed in the MEPD it looks like this

SIM disabled
network disabled
network subset disabled
service provider disabled
corporate disabled

all have disabled next to them. It will not accept the MEP2 code to put the unlock code in. I have heard that if it says disabled next to network that means it is already unlocked. Can any one confirm if this means I am already unlocked?

Thanks for any help!

Answer:

The device was shipped unlocked from Sprint.

You didn't need to purchase an unlock code.

It is already unlocked.

So my dad works for boeing and he gets new blackberrys (blackberries?) every year and so he has some just chilling in cupboards. So i picked up the 8700c that he didn't want. The problem is that its a Cingular phone. So i need a way of changing it over to either Sprint or T-mobile. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thnks

Answer:
There are several online vendors that can unlock your 8700c such as www.unlockmybberry.com, but you will not be able to use it on Sprint. Good luck!
