If i unlock my bold 9650 will i still be able to use it on verizon network?

Hey all, I have a Sprint Bold 9650 and I wanted to unlock it because I may be doing some traveling overseas. I purchased the unlock code and when I typed in the MEPD it looks like this

SIM disabled
network disabled
network subset disabled
service provider disabled
corporate disabled

all have disabled next to them. It will not accept the MEP2 code to put the unlock code in. I have heard that if it says disabled next to network that means it is already unlocked. Can any one confirm if this means I am already unlocked?

You didn't need to purchase an unlock code.

It is already unlocked.

I called AT&T to get my Blackberry phone unlocked and the rep told me that along with the iPhone they don't have unlock codes for the Blackberry Bold. Is this true? Anyone here that has gotten their Bold unlocked through AT&T? Please verify.

I had no problem getting one recently. Basic plan, new customer, only had the phone for about a month at the time. You just got someone lazy or not-fully-trained.

Verizon uses CDMA technology for their phones. Most US cellphone carrier's use GSM technology for their phones.

Your son can unlock his Bold 9650 and use it on a GSM carrier.
