How to check your e-mail on your Blackberry and on your computer

1/1/2012

Step 1. Set up a gmail account
Step 2. Forward all incoming mail to the e-mail given to you by your carrier
Step 3. Now you have e-mail you can check both on your Blackberry and on your computer

You won't have attachments, but you can check your e-mail on any computer. Can you even do that on BES email?

I've never used BES, I don't use BBM or any other blackberry services. That being said, do I have a valid argument?

Do you have an active BLACKBERRY Data Plan from your phone service carrier/provider?

Which Blackberry Can I buy for my freind in Toronto Canada

I live in the states and want to buy a friend of mine up in Toronto a blackberry so we can BBM. She is on Telus and her contract does not expire until summer. Right now she has some dinky phone neither android, BB or iOS, nor does she have a data plan. I'm looking to get her ANYTHING that will allow us to send messages to each other. I was thinking of a blackberry and give her a few months worth of money for data. What are my options as far as phones and costs. I will appreciate all your insight. Thank you.

Answer:

Buy used one  (have it unlocked) and mail it to her. then tell her to call her carrier to set up data. look at Telus' website to see what phones they offer, then scour ebay or the marketplace forums for a used phone.

Unlock your Blackberry online and use it on any network worldwide.

Who is your carrier? Have you resent the service books to the device and re-hosted your routing table?

I'm going to assume that since you switched from pay as you go to full contract service that there is something in the provisioning of the device that hasn't been applied. Re-sending your service books should resolve this. Go into your e-mail settings on the device, press menu, select "Service Books" then select to send service books. This should get you back in action.

What's teh difference between the Blackberry 9780 and the 9900

11/25/2011

I have a Torch 9800, which I got on a promotional deal for my contract a few months ago. I like it, but I am finding the slider a little annyoing as I am always typing and I don't really like the "stiff" feel that the keys have. They are fine, and much better than a lot of qwerty phones I have tried but I prefer the Bold keyboard. Particulary the 9780, and the 9900.

I have two choices, I am going to give my Torch to my friend who had her BlackBerry stolen and can't pay for another one right now. I'll get myself either the Bold 9780 which I have seen around, and I have seen the PlayBook heavily discounted so I thought I'd get one too!

But I am wondering if I should just ignore the PlayBook and get the Bold 9900. For the price of this I can get the Bold 9780 and a PlayBook, but if I go for the 9900 - I can only afford that.

My use for my BlackBerry really is these things: BBM, Email, SMS messaging, Twitter, Whatsapp, Music, a few apps which I think are available for the 9780 such as Dictionary & Thesaurus, Shazam Encore, Smoothie, World Clock, BB Protect, Evernote, Fancytran, BB Wallet, WeatherEye, Sudoku Supreme, some Spanish newspaper apps, Trainline, The Independent, and two online radio apps and very occasioanlly I play Sim City.

I know the Bold 9780 has a smaller screen and isn't touch screen. That doesn't bother me at all as I would be able to use the PlayBook via Bridge to browse the web. But what I am not sure is whether I should buy another OS6 device or just ignore the PlayBook and get the 9900?

Everyone I see with the 9900 says it is amazing and jumps miles ahead of the older BlackBerries.

What's your thoughts? And no, I am not ever going back to iOS, Android, and I'm not going to buy a WP7 phone. I love my BlackBerry and I'm sticking with RIM.

Thank you.
